At CURE, we do not believe breast cancer patients should have to face the double burden of a health crisis and a financial crisis. Unfortunately, for many, the financial impact of a breast cancer diagnosis can be debilitating. In 2018, a group of passionate, dedicated, and generous women came together to tackle this problem. For the last 32 years, the Fondation Virage has provided cancer patients with a multitude of social and psychological supports needed to face the disease. Funding from the CURE Foundation is being used to offer patients a breast cancer support group and well as to provide wigs to those who have experienced hair loss due to their treatment.

Thanks to our National Denim Day donors, CURE purchased a dual mammography monitor in support of the BC Cancer Breast Screening Quality Management Program, which provides screening mammography exams to over 250,000 women in British Columbia each year!

The Queensway Carleton Hospital is a designated Ontario Breast Screening Program and plays a regional role in breast cancer screening and diagnosis, performing more than 7500 mammograms annually. They recently launched a major campaign to raise funds for a 3D mammography machine to ensure they can offer patients the latest in diagnostic imaging technology. Recognizing the importance of such a machine for more accurate breast screening, earlier diagnosis and ultimately saving more lives, CURE is committed to supporting this campaign with a $100,000 gift over 2 years.
